27th Annual Awards Ceremony & Dinner

Thanks to all of our guests who attended the If Given A Chance 27th Annual Awards Ceremony & Dinner at the Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center

The event was a great success, with a special thank you to Allison Haley, Napa County District Attorney and our board chair, who did a fabulous job as Master of Ceremonies. We want to recognize Judge Scott Young who gave out the awards and we want to thank our auctioneers, Barb Nemko and Dorothy Salmon. Because of their enthusiasm and attendee participation, along with our sponsor donations, we raised over $160,000!

Cinthya Cisneros, a 2008 alumna and owner of La Cheve in Napa, gave a heartfelt speech at the dinner to remind us of the impressive achievements of our students as a result of their grit, resilience, and persistence to reach their goals. Cinthya inspired our ten graduating high school seniors with her traumatic life story, which was much like theirs, showing them that success is achievable.

Our 2022 graduating seniors will be attending UC Davis, Berkeley, and San Diego as well as Sonoma State and Napa Valley College. All of your donations support our current students – 33 in college and 17 high school juniors who were recently selected to become our 2023 cohort. We are so proud of our students and 400+ alumni who have achieved amazing success as a result of our services, your donations, and their hard work!
