Koda Sage Inman-Ahlstrom
Koda Sage Inman-Ahlstrom graduated from New Technology High School in June of 2017. He will be attending Napa Valley Junior College for one year and then transferring to the University of Missouri on an athletic scholarship. Koda has been participating in youth sports for most of his life. He spent over 300 hours coaching a prep wheelchair basketball team while also traveling around the world competing at a national level in wheelchair sports. In 2010 he received the national M.V.P award for prep wheelchair basketball. Throughout most of his junior and senior years of his high school career, he worked with homeschool teachers while in hospitals. He is motivated by helping others and is committed to his education. Vanessa is graduated from Vintage High School in June of 2017. She will be attending the Napa Valley Junior College prior to transferring to UCLA.
Vanessa has challenged herself with many AP and honors courses during her years in high school, and she is planning to pursue a career in pediatric nursing. Vanessa is a very bright student with a big heart and a desire to help others. She has faced many challenges but remains positive as she learns new things and continues to grow.
Katlin Peterson Kiehl
Katlin Peterson Kiehl graduated from New Technology High School in June 2017 and will be attending Hawaii Pacific University. Her extracurriculars included participation with the Napa Peer Court Program, volunteering at elementary festivals, holding internships and more. She plans to pursue a career in child psychology with hopes of working in the foster care system to help those who cannot help themselves. Katlin has had a very positive attitude in spite of the many challenges she has faced, and is now excited to create her own future with the help of this organization. Her Alumni Partner is Angel Zavala.
Ari Sallay graduated from Napa High School in June of 2017 and plans to attend the Napa Valley Junior College prior to transferring to a University to pursue pediatrics and child psychology. Facing difficulties throughout her life, Ari found a way to use each challenge as a stepping stone to take control of her life. During her senior year she completed online courses, volunteered and maintained a job. She became financially independent and found her own home. In her struggle to balance life and education, Ari has found the strength to succeed. Her alumni partner is Nickole Iadarola.
Alma is graduated from Napa High School in June 2017 and is currently attending UC Merced where she is pursuing a career in law. She was involved in Mariposa, Napa Peer Court, Napa County's Youth Council, AVID, Dreamers Club and the California Scholarship Federation while at Napa High. Alma is a strong, resilient young woman and despite the many obstacles she has faced, she has always kept a positive attitude. As a senior she maintained a 4.4 GPA while taking 3 AP classes, working a part time job, and being involved in extra-curricular activities. She is excited to face the unknown and shape her own future. Her Alumni Partner is Jessica Toral.
Hannia Martinez Mejia
Hannia graduated from St. Helena High School in June 2017 and will be attending San Diego State University to study Psychology. While in high school she volunteered at Food of Love, St. Helena Hospital, and maintained a part-time job. Through her life's challenges, Hannia has proven to be resilient and focused in her studies. Despite having faced many challenges, she has always stayed strong, determined, and positive. Since transitioning into foster care, she has flourished in the loving, supportive and nurturing environment that her foster mom provided. Hannia established her California residency, received her driver's license, was accepted to 7 colleges and maintained a 4.0 GPA or higher. Her Alumni Partner is Jose Uribe.
