“Chance Encounter…with Tom Amato and Leslie Medine”

The If Given A Chance Foundation, Napa Valley Register, Napa County
Office of Education, Napa Valley Unified School District, Napa Valley College and the Howell Mountain Elementary School District present “Chance Encounter”
to honor those adults who have had a significant positive impact on the lives of young people in our community. All funds rasied will support Chance Encounter awards.

You never know what good you can do or lives which will be changed by a Chance Encounter… This year’s honorees: Tom Amato and Leslie Medine. Tom Amato is not only the Executive Director of the Angwin Teen center, he has lead efforts to help parents, adults, and teens understand and support growth in one another through education and wisdom sharing. Leslie Medine is the founder of a number of youth lead organizations currently focusing her efforts on On the Move and VOICES. She has the unique ability to listen to and lead people in a way that allows their ideas and visions to emerge.

2008 If Given a Chance 14th Annual Awards

On Friday night, May 9th, 2008 at the Napa Valley Marriott a sold out crowd honored the courage and resilience of 28 young people.  Congressman Mike Thompson, California Sate Senator Pat Wiggins and California Assembly Member Noreen Evans all awarded Resolutions honoring each of the If Given a Chance recipients.
